Just set aside the first Thursday morning from 10am-Noon every month to come and learn, or perfect, a quilting technique. These short, inexpensive classes are designed with beginners in mind, but there’s always something to learn, a tip to pick up, for you more experienced quilter, too.

 

5/4/17 – Binding:  Having tidy, even binding on your quilt makes a big difference to the overall success of your quilt. It’s not hard to get right so come learn how.

  • Bring a smallish quilt that is ready for binding, or a sample pretend quilt.
  • 2 1/2″ strips for binding
  • Sewing machine, sewing supplies, thread
  • Walking foot for your machine

6/1/16 – Half-Square Triangles and more:  where there’s one triangle, there are often many!!!  So making them accurately every time is important. And there are many techniques out there. We’ll learn several ways to tame those triangles and you’ll know which works best for you.

  • 2 fat quarters, one light, one dark
  • Rotary cutting equipment including a smallish square ruler if you have one.
  • Sewing machine, 1/4″ foot if possible, sewing supplies.

 

7/6/17 – Paper Piecing: What’s all the fuss about paper piecing? Come and find out from Martha! You will make a few easy 6” heart blocks that will get you going in the right direction. Note: there is an additional $8 pattern fee for this one so you can make a full project when you go home.

  • 2 fat quarters, one light, one dark
  • Rotary cutting equipment including a smallish square ruler if you have one.
  • Sewing machine, 1/4″ foot if possible, sewing supplies.
